the community won.

Rachel grew up performing at the Bucks County
Dance Center, played soccer and softball for
Valley A.A., and was an active member
of Congregation Tifereth Israel. Now she

in Bensalem

As State Representative for the 18th Assembly District,
Rachel will make it a priority to solve the funding issues
Bensalem School District faces, fight to ensure our
kids receive an education that provides them with
the tools to succeed, work to fix our flooding roads

in to create well-paying jobs.

Families deserve
a future in Bensalem.

PUT BENSALEM STUDENTS FIRST

Raising property taxes cannot continue to be the solution to ensuring our children get the education they need. As a mom with two children in Bensalem School District, Rachel is committed to reducing the deficit, eliminating irresponsible state mandates, and putting Bensalem students first.

FIX OUR CRUMBLING INFRASTRUCTURE

Born and raised in Bensalem, Rachel has seen how bumper-to-bumper traffic, flooding roads, and commercial lots falling into disrepair have impacted the community. As State Representative, Rachel will advocate for the state funding our community desperately needs.

Build a Great place to live and work

Between fewer job opportunities and rising rent costs, Bensalem is becoming less affordable for families. At the same time, inadequate support from the state has caused seniors to be taxed out of their homes. Rachel will work diligently to bring new local businesses to Bensalem to create well-paying jobs and restore stability to our local economy.

Meet Rachel

Born & Raised in Bensalem

Rachel was born and raised in Bensalem, grew up performing at the Bucks County Dance Center, played soccer and softball for Valley A.A., and was an active member of Congregation Tifereth Israel.  A Bensalem High School graduate, with Bachelors degrees in Political Science and Advertising/Public Relations from Penn State, and a Law Degree from Drexel, Rachel was set up for success but was weighed down by student loan debt.

Single Mom with Two Daughters

Newly single, with two young daughters, Rachel was faced with tough choices that are too familiar to many Bensalem families — Do I spend time with my family or try to make ends meet? To afford the cost of daycare, healthcare, student loan payments, and the general cost-of-living in Bensalem, Rachel chose to move back home with her parents.

Bensalem School Board Director

In 2016, Rachel was encouraged by a former teacher and mentor from Bensalem High School to run for School Board. With her oldest daughter in Kindergarten, Rachel watched as board members attempted to cut elementary music and arts programs in half. With her advocacy and diligence, Rachel helped fight against those cuts, and the community won. Since being elected, Rachel has founded the Policy Committee and the Sleep and School Start Time Committee, and helped create a middle school drama program.

Our Priorities

RACHEL'S KICK OFF!

Put Bensalem Students First

As a mother of two young children and a member of the Bensalem School Board, Rachel has seen the devastating repercussions state mandates have had on Bensalem School District. Little to no support in Harrisburg has left Bensalem at the mercy of state officials for too long, leading to increased property taxes just to meet basic educational needs. Rachel is committed to standing up to the politicians in Harrisburg, putting Bensalem students first, and advocating for the solutions we need to ensure our students have what they need without taxing residents out of their homes.

FIGHT FOR A LIVING WAGE & ECONOMIC DIGNITY

Current financial headlines make it easy for some to forget just how devastating the recession of 2007-2009 was to Bensalem. Our neighbors lost their homes, others lost their retirement and life savings, while college graduates were left crippled by student debt and struggling to find jobs. Pennsylvania continues to be a state where a majority of our economic growth only benefits the top 1%. As a single mom, Rachel knows just how limited the opportunities for career growth are in Bensalem, and will work to attract new local businesses to vacant storefronts that will provide our residents with real job opportunities and reinvest in our community.

Ensure Voter Accessibility & Election Reform

Pennsylvania has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the country. Just last year, these restrictive laws left dozens of absentee ballots uncounted while our local Senate race was decided by only 74 votes. Rachel is determined to protect everyone’s right to vote and will work to make our voting processes both more secure and accessible.

ADVOCATE FOR FUNDING TO IMPROVE CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE

Bumper-to-bumper traffic, flooded roads, and empty storefronts just scratch the surface of some of the problems our residents are facing. As your State Representative, Rachel will advocate for the funding Bensalem deserves to rebuild our infrastructure, expand SEPTA to increase accessibility and reduce congestion, and attract small business owners to the many vacant properties in Bensalem.

PROVIDE A PATHWAY TO AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE

Thanks to  Governor Wolf, the uninsured rate in Pennsylvania has decreased to an all time low of just over 5%; however, access to insurance does not mean access to affordable care, and in Bensalem, healthcare continues to be a costly burden for many individuals and families. Continuing to find affordable solutions to our nation’s healthcare crisis will be a top priority for Rachel as State Representative.
